Madrid Lésbico

A history of all things lesbian in Madrid, Spain’s current capital. It includes the very old to the modern, from the specific lesbians who made the city to the places that defined cultural and nightlife to the places where we experienced violence. It is everything you wanted to know about the history of lesbians in the city and things you didn’t necessarily want to know.

The page was created by Laura Michelle, a lesbian living in Madrid since 2013. With a PhD in Sports Communication and an MSEd in Instructional Tech, she found herself moving to Spain for love at a time when same-sex marriage was only legally available in the country. She can read Spanish and communicate in the language well enough for everyday life, but not enough to produce a well written lesbian history of Madrid in Castilian Spanish.
