El Escorial de San Lorenzo


Carolina Coronado spent a summer in the town in order to improve her health in the period between 1852 and 1873.

In 2013, women without male partners, namely lesbians and single women, faced the most barriers in trying to access reproductive assistance in Madrid, Asturias and Andalucía.


Elena de Césped lived in Madrid for a brief time, where she was part of the Corte de la Monarquía Hispánica of Felipe II. Buildings that she likely would have spent time in as part of the Corte include the El Real Sitio de San Lorenzo de El Escorial.
