Bótoa

Bótoa is a municipality in the city of Badajoz, located about 17 km away from Badajoz’s historic city center. With its origins in Roman Spain, the municipality has always had a small population. Its current population is around 300 people.

History

Bótoa is a place that Carolina Coronado, an influential Sapphic poet in the Romantic period, found particularly pleasant to visit during the time she lived in Extremadura.
